Having arrived in Martinique on the 3rd Jaunary, we have 2 weeks before Graham flies in to join the boat for 7 weeks. We decided to spend a week in Marin, the centre of the yachting services to attend to the various jobs on the boat mostly damage sustained through the transatlantic storm we went through. Our tasks completed so far...
- Replaced Windex
- Replaced Tricolor and anchor light
- Replaced waterpump
- Repaired electrical faults in aft cabin,
- Installed drain holes in tha hull to address the ingress of rainwater
- Repaired torn sailbag
Had enough of repairs and needed to get sailing again so late Thursday set off for Anse d Arlett. On the way passing Diamond Rock at Sunset.
Met up with another Arc participant and had a jolly evening scoffing down rum punches and woke in the morning to pay the price. After a few hours recovery, had one of the best dives yet in the crystal clear water with visibility of at least 20m Lots of bright corals and fish. The highlight tho was a female turtle that was totally undisturbed by us that we watched her from a few feet away for 5 minutes as she ate lunch....
Late evening dive at Grand Anse around the corner and then got trated to a spectacular rainbow after one of the frequent downpours
